Looks like new Unis get announced in 2 weeks. I'm looking for more details but I suspect the end of the contract with the secondary provider is up this summer and we move to Nike proper shortly.

There was an article written by some media outlet associated with another B12 school and it was ranking the worst to last uniforms of every B12 school. In his opinion our road uni's secured out place as last / worst uniform.Comment

Does anyone have any info in our licensing? I see Lobot mentions about the secondary license/provider, I believe BSN, might be ending and we're en route to be direct with Nike but outside of Nike, the fan base has terrible licensing partners/3rd party apparel agreements. Is this due to current contracts or simply due to lack of demand/purchasing power?Comment

I wouldn't say they're terrible. Are you talking about retail consumer goods or the actual uniforms because retail wise It's much better than it was by a long shot. Marty Ludwig finally got a clue and loosened up a bit.
That said, the goal of the licensing folks was to cater to our alumni base and not position UC as Walmart T-shirt fans like UK and OSU. I think UC programs and academics are doing fine without that and it's improved over the last 10 yearsBrent Wyrick

I was speaking about retail consumer goods, specifically clothing brands. I should have been concise. I see brands like FootJoy, Vineyard Vines, Mitchell & Ness, Forty Acres, Titleist etc. for the national brand schools and was wondering how those brands license work with the schools. I assume these brands don't inventory and the items are made by order, so I was wondering what, if anything, was keeping UC from having offerings from these types of niche, third-party brands. I'm guessing it's a combination of things but was mostly just curious.Comment
