Per the website Boardroom:
If UC moved on from Scott Satterfield between now and the end of his contract (2028), he is owed 70% of his remaining pay.
So, if UC cuts ties today, he would still have $11.7 million left on his deal, meaning Cincinnati would have to pay him 70% of that, or $8.19 million.

I continue to be flabbergasted about the buyouts that Cunningham negotiated with SS and WM but maybe that is what it takes to sign a head coach these days.Even mediocre coaches with mediocre credentials.
Does anybody out there have any insight from other schools?

A quick look revealed even Brian Smith at OU had a $2.5 million buyout (which is being hotly contested!) BTW John Cunningham's contract has a $4.95 million buyout.

None of UC's contracts are out of the norm. The coaches across the nation use the same agents, who know the numbers and use them in negotiations.
