Still worried about the defense, can’t keep on giving more than 450 yards and expect to win. Pass rush bad.

Nice win. Curious why UC went away from the run in the 2nd half, though. Made the game harder than it needed to be. Tawee “bisoned” that ISU player! That was awesome. I also loved that end around play where Sorsby batted the ball to someone for a 20+ yard gain. Couldn’t be happier and more surprised that we’re where we are. We were at #36 prior to today’s win-I don’t think we get ranked based on the performance of teams 20-25, but we’ll maybe be close.

Hey man; I with you on this one. UC cannot continue to let teams run up and down the field gathering yardage. UC gave up 465 yards to Iowa State. Also, Iowa State ran 27 more plays than UC (86-59). Likewise, Iowa State possessed the ball about 10 more minutes than UC (35-25). Clearly, UC probably will not win any defensive games this year.

UC's defensive line play is the worst that I have seen all season. UC's defensive line rushes without the violent aggressiveness that is needed. Even when UC blitz's the line of scrimmage, it is a soft blitz and little pressure is put on the quarterback. Although UC actually sacked the QB 4 times against Iowa State, how many defensive linemen got a sack? I counted just one (I could be wrong about this). The linebackers are the strength of the defense. The defensive backs are able to make plays, but they are not consistent. UC should seriously rethink its defensive line schemes and stunt strategies.

It is very clear that Satterfield is not trying to beat teams with his defense. It is about scoring with Satterfield. Hey, I must admit, this UC team can really score. That last touchdown late in the 4th quarter to put the Iowa State game out of reach was gutsy and sweet.

Great win against a national team. I even heard some TV analysts talk about Sorsby's season's stats as Heisman worthy. Come on man! Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Overall, this was a very good win over a pretty good team on national TV.

One other thing: UC does not have to play Texas Tech. They are the best team in the BIG XII. The conference schedule favors UC. It is going to be interesting to see how this season plays out. By the way, Kansas beat UCF tonight. UCF is UC's next opponent. UC should be favored in that game. Good win today.

Great game by the Cats! Good to see the resurgence of the running game! A Storm (O-Line) rolled across Iowa State yesterday with repeated claps of Thunder (Walker) and Lightning (Pryor)

Get used to it. Nine of the other 15 B12 teams average at least 424 yards per game. The Bearcats have seven of them on the schedule. This is an offensive-minded conference.

As far as pass rush is concerned, only one B12 team averages at least three sacks per game (AZ State, 3.80). UC and TCU are tied for second with 2.80. However, the defense under Tyson Veidt is not designed to apply max pressure. This version of the 3-3-5 is virtually entirely a zone scheme, dropping eight the majority of the time. That isn't going to change. The Bearcats aren't going to line up in press man-to-man. They don't have the personnel to do it. Sauce Gardner, Coby Bryant, Bryan Cook and Derrick Forrest aren't here anymore.

This was a really helpful perspective. I appreciate the insight. The truth of it might still drive me crazy sometimes, but at least there is a method to the madness. It also helps that Sorsby has the skills to help us grow in our offensive mindset.

Ok, one of the funniest things to come out of a player in a long time!

Evan Pryor on Tawee Walker's "truck stick" run that blew up that ISU player...

"I was like, 'Golly!'" Pryor said of Walker knocking a defender on his back. "Bro just lowers his shoulder like that and literally runs through a human. After that, it's like, 'I can't wait to get out there too!'"

                😂😂😂

There have been insightful comments about our offense and defense, with which I largely agree. I want to praise our special teams play, which has been outstanding and refreshing after what we've seen in the past. Fletcher has been doing a great job punting. His punt against Iowa State that was downed on the 1 yard line took the wind out of ISU's sails as they were attempting their comeback. Rusnak's placekicking has been perfect so far - I hope I don't jinx him. He has nailed all of his extra points and field goals, and almost all of his kickoffs have not been returned. Our kickoff returns have been excellent, and but for a questionable penalty we would have had a punt return for a touchdown against Kansas. It looks like the coaching staff has done a good job bringing in the right guys to correct what has been a weakness in the past.

These are excellent points. I have definitely been impressed.
