How many starters are going to sit this out? Can you imagine playing the 22nd ranked Navy team with a UC QB w/ little or no game experience?

    Let's hope for a miracle.

One can look at it as Navy has zero scouting report on UC's QB.

Navy now has it's own thread. Let's go there and leave this thread for everything else in Bowl land up until the CFP.

and they pocketed the 20 million. They are not in a conference, and they schedule lightweights in order to get in the CFP. That doesn't seem to work anymore. You can't make the finals, if you can't make the CFP. So instead of playing for a championship, the fans have sour grapes and excuses this year. As we know the old adage in sports is "what have you done lately". I am sure ND is having this tantrum to bully the committee for the next few years, but this year they won't be able to see J. Love's at least one more time. I was at a restaurant yesterday during the selection show. NJ is a heavy ND fandom. It was quite quiet and lots of anger. I laughed as my team wasn't considered when a couple years ago, we were in the tourney of four and not 12. Of course I don't have the entitled attitude from the 1930s. ND played when there wasn't the media as there is today to get a real analysis of who is the better teams. It was based on brand reputation and to the dismay of today's ND fans, brand rep sure didn't work yesterday. They are considered based on their record and strength of schedule. They should keep it to themselves and go to their forums to vent. That, sadly, is how we handle the end of the season. At least our team will show up to play one last time. I just don't know who will play. We will have more practices to get young players ready for next year though. That is a good thing. Yes, I have been driven to apathy this year, but next season is in preparation. Go Cats one more time. My ND friends can't say that.

Not bad for the season that we had. It is my favorite non-New Years Day bowl. Beale Street, Rendezvous ribs and the Peabody Hotel ducks.

Not being in a conference will cost ND about 10 million in revenue from playing in a bowl. It won't hurt the FB program as the money is always there. It may hurt the much smaller non-revenue programs. perhaps only the players of those teams care about that.

The Big 12 fined K State and I State $500k each for opting out of their bowl games.

I understand the schools' position, but they're not the first teams to play a bowl game with a stop gap coach. uc belk bowl, uc fenway bowl, etc. come to mind. if the B12 lost those bowl slots, I'd think that it cost the league, and its other members, a good chunk of change.

ND isn't playing because the Committee won't bow to ND and give them a special dispensation. Surely the AD and HC had the authority to override the choice. I believe many young players would have liked the opportunity to practice and to show their abilities. They were Afterall, highly ranked recruits. Just a bullying ego trip to get their way. I don't want Marcus back. Not that he would consider the Cats.

Every player at ND was usually the best on their HS team. They want a chance to gain a starting job and also increased NIL. It doesn't make sense saying the players. Perhaps because they might have had to play a good team on national TV also played a part. The mystique of 100 years ago.

I am being strong because this tantrum and power play is also ruining the game.

i was referring to the two B12 teams, who lost head coaches. But, I agree with you that its not a good look for ND, to take their ball and go home. there's a certain arrogance there, under the golden dome.

I love that the Big 12 fined those schools. It should have been a little steeper though.
