Really stings to know that could have been us if they hired him instead of Satt
Not necessarily. The NIL funding is a big part of his success, and to my knowledge UC doesn't have a billionaire alumnus like Mark Cuban is to IU. But, UC would have benefited from Cignetti's coaching vs. CSS at least.
I thought I heard Herbstreit say early in the telecast that Cristobal told his team to hit Mendoza as much as possible. That almost sounds like putting a bounty on him. Sure enough... 3 cheap late hites in the first half.
No flags for any of those hits. When will officials be held responsible for their errors? Or at least be asked to explain them in a public forum That first one, where the guy drove the crown of his helmet under his chin when he was not even the ball carrier, was particularly egregious.

This was a glaring issue in the first half. I think it really affected IU and their plan. Then, in the 2nd half, during a critical point in the game, IU gets flagged for a late hit on Beck. Seems fishy.

That roughing the passer called against IU on Miami's final drive was questionable. Even the ESPN radio announcers mentioned as much. I am glad that call did not determine the outcome of the game but it sure came close.
Impressive for sure. To go from the most losses in NCAA history to the CFP national champs in two years is amazing.
I was especially happy for Isaiah Jones, a LB from London (OH) High School. Jones scored a touchdown after a blocked punt. I know his family and his father played TE for tO$U from 1992-96. He was, in my opinion, an under-recruited player, who had an offer from UC. Swung and missed on him.
