These guys look familiar. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure Tyson Veidt has prepared for a service academy before. I hope I'm wrong because it's a different ball game as we all know.

The 3-3-5 is going to be a challenge here. We've played the Midshipmen enough that I know that having an extra LB was the formula that worked best against the triple option and that was from a normal 4-3-4 defense. Stacking the box and daring them to go over the top is probably the formula here. You might get burned once or twice but it beats giving up 300+ yards on the ground and he clock disappearing completely.

Fortunately we get to scout them this weekend for the Army vs. Navy game.

For some reason I think the Navy players are likely to honor their commitments to the school and the team and actually play in the bowl game. I don't expect most of our starters to suit up

The Naval Academy players will honor all commitments. If UC has more than 4 starters sit out, I would bow out of this game, as the humiliation will be extremely bad.

Satterfield said he expects “most” of the anticipated transfers out to play. We will see, I doubt that very much.

NIL contracts tell me they will play or be in breach of contract.

I would have preferred to be matched up against either Minnesota or Penn State. A win over either of them would be more recognizable. Also, Navy will be disciplined and will be ready to play. I think it would have been a win against either B1G opponent. Not so sure about Navy.

Also, Cort Braswell, UC LB coach, was on the defensive staff at Army. He faced the double-wing veer in practice every day, as well as facing Navy.

One difference in Navy's offense after Ken Niumatololo left is that they throw the ball more than they once did. While still run-dominant, QB Blake Horvath has averaged about 14 passes per game, almost always from play-action, throwing over the top. He averaged nearly ten yards per attempt. In two games (versus the dregs of the AAC), he threw for well over 300 yards each.

Then I look for ward to see the youth and hope they stay on if they produce. Go Cats

Transferring from a military academy comes with strings attached for any cadet who has finished his sophomore year. Prior to that, he can resign the academy without penalty and enter the portal. After that, he would still have a military obligation, but as an enlisted man. The vast majority of cadets are there to become commissioned officers, even the athletes. Not many would consider transferring. Another problem is that a good number of, for instance, Navy academic credits don't transfer to non-military universities.

I heard from the highest authority that part of the NIL contract is the player's obligation to play in any bowl game. That means Sorsby, The Godfather, et al will be playing.

playing --- to not be injured or playing to make a last impression on the scouts although I would say the scouting has been done for the most part till the senior bowl

Of course, we don't know how many portal players will move on before the bowl game.

is anyone watching the Army-Navy game? Just over 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter and Army took a 10-7 lead. Army has only had two possessions and Navy is beginning their third possession.

UC should use a 4 or 5 man front on the D-line against Navy.
