“Sources confirm to Bearcat Journal that Cincinnati Defensive Coordinator Tyson Veidt is leaving the program to take the linebackers coach job at Penn State in a mutual parting of ways. He will be rejoining Matt Campbell's staff with the Nittany Lions.”

Maybe we will part with the three-man defensive line.
He won't come cheap . Perhaps the possibility of becoming HC might do it. The problem if Mike does well, then CSS does well.
Leo, I don’t question your point. However, if Mickens does well and UC is once again competitive on the National stage I’m OK with CSS doing well. In fact, that might be a good thing as there would be less of a chance of him (CSS) bolting to his “next big thing” as would a young up and comer. I think we have seen with Fickell, unless you are a Nick Saban type, the OC and DC are the main contributors to overall success.
And with Mickens likely to be the DB coach should he come, we might finally have someone teaching our DBs how to turn and look for the ball!

oh I agree as I think Freeman made Fickell. If Mickens is successful, how long till he gets a HC job and we are left with CSS. Is Mickens ready? Will he move?
I don't think Mickens would come to UC from ND unless it was a substantial "promotion," i.e. defensive coordinator. Otherwise, why leave a top program for a lateral move?

I didn’t clarify, but my thought (hope?) was for Mickens to come as DC to replace Veidt. Hoping also he would prepare to become HC.
