Good game. Fun to watch although sometimes cringe worthy. Glad the Cats held on at the end.
Fantastic job by the O-line and RBs. On the defensive side I the LBs played well but I'd like to see us tighten up our coverage a bit. Antwan Peek Jr. continues to be a menace at forcing fumbles.
I thought the play calling was either very hot or very cold. . The Malachi Henry TD was a good example of hot. Great play action fake after hammering the RBs all the way down the field. Cold was putting in Zion Johnson in cold off the bench when Payne and Tabb had been gashing the defense all game. Not a reflection on Zion at all although he probably needs to work on ball security. Just a bad coaching decision to have him out there in that moment.
That first long ball to JV Gibson should have been a PI call against K-State. Refs missed a lot of thing on both sides all game long. Seemed like there were a lot of reviews in the game although I didn't count them.
Not to nitpick the negative but Scott Springer alluded to the middle eight minutes starting with 4:00 in the 2nd Q. That last 4:00 of 2Q and first 4:00 of 3Q on the clock continues to plague Satterfield. Defense bailed him out with the turnover on the first K-State series in the 3rd. That could have easily been 24-10 K-State if that turnover doesn't happen. This coaching staff seems to be masters of clock mismanagement and soft defense going into halftime. We've got to get that fixed eventually.
