Right. And with how bad these DB guys are from UTSA and NIU…I’d rather just lose with local guys from Princeton, Elder, etc.

it’s like we bought our secondary off of Temu!

There has been no progress during the Satterfield years, treading water at best. What’s the plan to compete for Big 12 titles? Is there a plan? Do we not have the $$$$ to compete and are stuck where we are? I only know I’m sick of what we saw today, again and again.

The defense had a bunch of starters out due to injuries. Next man up did not work today.

I'd rather be playing Tulsa, ECU, Memphis, and Navy each year, knowing we were likely to win any game. Moving to the Big 12 was wise only in the short-term. We have five games left, and four of them are against top 20 teams. Ugh, this is going to get even uglier. I'd rather be poor and be excited about the next game, versus being "house-poor", as we are now.

If you're going to give up 24 points in the 4Q, you not going to beat anyone.

This stretch of games is quite the gauntlet. TT, Utah, Houston and Iowa St. I don’t see UC winning a game until potentially Colorado. Then they travel to BYU. Most likely 1-5 finish to be 5-7 on the season. Not good enough.

I think the Satterfield recruiting model won’t work for us, it didn’t for Tuberville. Fickell recruited much closer to home, a lot of Ohio and midwestern guys. I know Ohio State had their pick but we were usually able to land the next level guys. Satterfield settles for what’s left in Georgia or Florida after the whole SEC took the best of those areas. We can’t compete for titles that way. We need a young, energetic, Ohio guy to take us to the next level in the Big 12.

Satterfield has never been a good fit at UC. His southern aw-shucks personality does not appeal to UC’s fans or players. Much like Tuberville, whose southern attitude was not a good fit either, he doesn’t understand the culture of UC’s program. He will never be able to recruit locally because of that personality. He seems like a nice guy but also seems like he wouldn’t care if he loses his job. UC needs to move on after this season.

Broken record here...a shame they didn't pursue Chesney (UCLA) when he was ready to leave Holy Cross. Heck, the Auburn coach was born in Russia and look what he's doing! These are first year coaches at their respective schools btw.

I would think Urban Meyer has good knowledge about up and coming coaching candidates with Ohio/Midwestern roots that would be a good fit for this school - his alma mater. I hope our administration isn't too proud to ask for his advice.

We all knew UC wasn't great or even better than average, but scoring 42 against WVU with timely downfield passes surprised me. I was hopeful to pull it out and get the miracle stop on 3rd long inside their 5, especially with our kicker. Even if they had pulled out the win, that was a frustrating and disappointing loss. The defense cannot be that porous, even with some injuries. Part of me wants to say hats off to Hawkins and the Mountaineers, but that is only half of the story. I simply don't see the team playing with the fire needed to win and that fire has to start with the coach.

Barring a miracle, the Satterfield experiment is done. I cannot/will not root for the Cats to lose, but I take comfort that the upcoming string of likely losses will serve a greater purpose.

i agree with you. hopefully, its the end of a f*ed up era, and we move on. on defense, i think it underscores the 'cats lack of depth. the guys who came in for hurt players just got torched.

second possession of the game, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and one, inside the wvu 5 yard line. While we were watching, I told my son that uc should take the three points, but CS rolled the dice, and our aunt jemima, pancaking OL couldn't get enough push to get the yard. i thought that would bite them on the ***, and it surely did.
