The band themselves does not choose when they play. If you notice the Drum Major (the guys in white) wear a headset, there are athletic depart personnel on the other end they are controlled completely by the scoreboard people. This all came about while I was there, and was an effort to squeeze as much advertising into the game as possible. So a lot of those quick sounds to celebrate on field happenings have been relegated to the PA system Also, the Imperial March from Star Wars is used by everyone its really unoriginal, not sure there's a band that doesn't play it.

Don't care much about the bands, but I love seeing Bama punting deep in their own endzone!!!
Bleed red and black and everything else will take care of itself!

        Billick

They said on halftime of the bama game that Brian Billick was a serious contender for the ND Job.

The cupboard is bare for next year and he'll have to start all over again. There's a reason they only have one bowl win in 20 years and it's not lack of coaching. He may take it but I wish at least the UC fans would not take it as a forgone conclusion just like the national media is trying to shove down everyone throats, all for another story. If he keeps saying he wants to be here, and UC is a destination job, but our fan base doesn't want believe it, what does that say about our program? Let it play out, enjoy the season, ignore the speculation.
Keep telling yourself that. 3 schools can turn down a ND coaching job. UC is not one of them.

I think that BK is staying.

He does not seem like the person to lie about his plans. He said he told the team his plans. And then Mardy said that BK was staying. I believe him.

That's kind of what I'm thinking too. BK seems very sincere when he says his family loves it here and he wants to stay here.

That's very interesting. I hated Billick when he was with the Ravens but I like him on ESPN and in the broadcast booth. Guy is an intelligent football coach.

Even if he comes out and says he's staying, what does that mean? That he really is staying? It doesn't matter what he says, it will be questioned by the fans and the media. I think as long as Cincinnati tries to keep him happy he will stay. The guy is smart, he's not jumping ship just because the pay is better somewhere else. It's not all about money.

We already invested millions of dollars for the new practice fields which they are scheduled to be ready by September 2010. Would BK screw us after we made the investment?
                        I bleed red and black!!!!

I would not consider him screwing us over in any way. It needed to be done if the university wanted to compete with the big boys regardless who was coaching.

It wouldn't neccesarily be screwing us since we needed them regardless of who is the coach. But I do think that he has made a huge investment in this program and city and I think he is here for the longhaul.

It may not always be about money, but a combination of money, national championships, history and a bigger stage is hard to turn down. BK has brought UC to being undefeated, any yet they still wont be in the national championship game.

By not saying NO, BK hurting potential recruits.

I don't really buy that, we only have a couple of scholarships left for the '10 class and signing day isn't until February. I think the only thing it is doing is delaying a commitment.
