Reminds me of the Majeris situation at Utah. He was always being connected with new jobs, and when one of the local reporters said it was just about his ego and hearing his name in the news, he said it was about having Utah's name in the news and it helped recruiting when it was reported that Utah had a good coach. He always ended the rumors before signing time.

Just heard a rumor today that BK to ND is a done deal and that Charlie already has an offensive coordinator position lined up. I hope its all bogus.Comment

Where did you hear this? Other than the ESPN analysts, everyone is now saying that it is Stoops. Something happened during the process that had Kelly removed from the list. Was it lack of interest of Kelly's part? Was it something in his past (or present) that caused Notre Dame to look another way? Who knows?Comment

This is in line with all the other rumors we're hearing, that Kelly was dropped by ND for some reason. It could have been Kelly's comments regarding that beating death involving CMU players, but that was years ago and it never struck me as a big deal.
The good news is that if ND wants to make a move now, they can do that with Stoops or Tuberville. They will have to wait at least a week to make a move on BK. If UC wins and Texas loses, they won't be able to make a move on BK until January.Comment

I think we all have a pretty good idea why she did that - as to why Kelly doesn't simply stop the ND rumors by saying he's staying @ UC - who knows but Kelly. However, aside from the obvious one that he may well be interested in ND, I like the idea of one poster who said its all about keeping UC's name out there - its publicity, and like a manager/coach arguing over an ump's/ref's call, he knows he's not going to get him to change the call but maybe he gets the next one - maybe if he stays out there, some top recruit reconsiders his interest in UC because the coach seems to be a hot commodity and knows what he's doing, or maybe one of the ***** sports writers changes his mind, moves UC up a couple of slots, or having a direct effect on the BCS, maybe it's a coach or Harris Poll participant. And, of course, if he is, indeed, renegotiating his contract with UC how does it hurt him to put a little extra pressure on Thomas?
Oh, and by the way, for anyone who thinks ND doesn't want Kelly because he doesn't know anything about defense, didn't he start as a defensive coordinator?

This is a friend of a friend situation.
A friend of mine knows a guy that plays for ND. Supposedly a ND player heard that the deal is done. Kelly's coming in & Weiss is going to be offensive coordinator at Kansas City.

If Notre Dame wants Kelly he is going to go. Uc cannot commit to the kind of contract Notre Dame will offer if he is targeted. If there is no announcment about Weis or a new Coach this week or next I would go ahead and assume its someone still playing for something, BK. However if BK is headed out I would hope MT would atleast know soon so we can compete with the Louisville and UVA's out there.Comment

I still think that he is saying. Especially since Mardy came out and said that BK is staying.
Now it may be niave of me to think that BK wouldnt lie, but just because other coaches do it doesnt mean BK does it. I believe in BK, he has never lied to us before.Comment

FWIW....BK has now "tweeted" three times in the last couple of days with his last coming 4 hours ago.
"I beleive the Mental is to the Physical as 2 is to 1. That will be on display this Saturday and it may just determine who is the champ!"
It doesn't seem to me that if BK was to take the ND job, why bother posting "tweets" for the last 3 days???Comment
