Did Jimmy Johnson leak some news on the FBS selection show. He was talking as if Kelly to ND was a done deal and that now he had to make a decision between recruiting and coaching a bowl game.

It then seemed like the other guy tried to cover Jimmy's blunder.

Anyone else see it this way? I want to play Florida but I want to play Florida with our head coach. Is Thomas currently researching and putting feelers out?

I didn't see it that way at all. I saw it as Jimmy talking out of his a$$

All these pundits are going to look like idiots when ND hires someone else.
They are, that irritated the heck out of me also. I wish ND would go ahead a hire someone or at least give us there top 3. Instead of letting the media go crazy with naming who ever the want.

Why didn't Kelly get interviewed? I'm not surprised he wasn't interviewed for the national feed, but not even for the brief local recap?

So in effect, this is probably GREAT news for UC.

He said to leave it "would have to be a great opportunity" then went in to how tradition, fans, resources, family etc weigh in on the decision... He said UC is doing all the right things to keep him but he wouldn't deny that he would have interest in ND

I wish people would stop hypothesizing on what they think is going to happen, and stop speculating until either BK says something definitive or Notre Dame announces a hiring. Saying that "he just didn't sound like he was staying" does nothing for anyone.

Then he should stop beating around the bush and either leave or say he's staying... It is becoming a distraction

He also went on quite a bit about how UC was a destination job now and it would take a lot to make him leave. He mentioned "family concerns" and how he saw his daughter play soccer for the first time in 6 weeks. IIRC, he has 3 young kids in school now. The wife may not be happy with a move to South Bend.

I thought the comments were good. He was very upbeat about Cincinnati and he had lots of positive things to say about the program and its direction. Yes, he added the caveat that a "tremendous opportunity" could always draw him away, but that came off as honesty to me. If he said, "I will never ever ever leave," I wouldn't have believed him. No one can say such a thing for sure.

i really haven't been leaning one way or the other on this until today. when i saw video of players like mardy saying kelly told them he loved them and he wasn't going anywhere. i think he's staying. he might mislead the public, but i don't think he would lie to the players.

Essentially the same thing he has been saying... I thought Fowler did a great job of probing. without upsetting Kelly by asking directly about ND and if he has been in contact with any other school.

I will try to summarize the coaching questions...

He asked Kelly if he would entertain other jobs, and Kelly responded that it would take an incredible situation/opportunity for him to consider leaving UC, and he is happy with the steps UC has taken so far to continue to build the program. That UC is going to Badk to back BCS games and not many schools can claim to that.

Then Fowler asked him to define Incredible Opportunity.

I think BK was caught a little off gaurd by this question and stumbled in saying that the program would have to be rich in tradition and history and have the pieces in place that he would not have to build or rebuild anything. And said that UC is becoming a place like that. He also mentioned Timing as being important.

Fowler then asked if there was a time frame that he expects for his future to be settled.

BK said that he hasn't had anytime to tink about anything but his team and winning the BE, and was very tired after the 4.5 hour bus ride, but now will have a couple weeks to focus on other things and his family...

Couple points i thought were interesting:
BK mentioned tradition and history in defining Incredible opportunity
BK mentioned his family quite a bit and made a point to mention his three kids

I think BK knows he is the Bell of the Ball right now for ND, and he wants to see what they will offer him. I don't think he has made up his mind. I thought he looked a little stressed.

This is just what i took from the interview.
