FWIW, I know his wife has no desire to leave Cincy and has told him he can go if he wishes but she is not leaving.

I've heard the exact same thing from someone in the local media.

The way that the BCS is setup forces coaches to leave programs, more so than other sports where each team can be champion.

In basketball, NC State can be the champion but not so in college football. With the exception of Calipari, most coaches stay put and don't move between programs unless there's a hometown connection like Huggins.

The way that Kelly is acting (e.g., today on ESPN saying he would leave for an incredible offer), either (1) he hasn't been contacted by Notre Dame and wants to be contacted or (2) he's trying to keep the pressure on UC to build a better program and facilities. I sure hope its the latter.

Sounds to me like Kelly is open to leaving for the right opportunity, but no one have offered him that opportunity yet.

I imagine he takes the ND job if offered, but I don't think they are going to make the offer.

Skip Holtz at ECU and Jim Harbaugh at Stanford have also been mentioned as candidates, but you'd have to think they'd want Kelly over those guys. Who knows. If my life depended on it, I'd bet he's here next year, but that's just my guy feeling from everything I've heard and read.

That would coincide with the post earlier that said that BK's wife told him she is staying here regardless of what he does. This may be the single biggest indicator out there. I can't see him leaving his family here to go coach at Notre Dame.

You know as much as we complain about the rumors on the net, I would say we entertain more misinformation on this forum than anywhere else. C'mon guys, now we are bringing his wife and kids into the discussion.

I think a thread getting started about not going to the bowl game unless kelly is there pretty much sums up how stupid people will get if he leaves. I'm also trying to look at this whole situation as unbiased towards UC as possible. I'm not going to convince myself one way or another. All I know is that we are playing florida on jan 1st and regardless of the coach that game is going to happen and so will many more football seasons.

UC is going to be a darn good team next year. It doesnt matter who is the coach.
