Still think that BK isnt going anywhere.

He brought up the part about his family being a major part of the decision and info out there seems to lean towards his family really wanting to stay.

If you read Josh's book, you would know.
      It was Washington.

Coach Kelly was quite fair on Dan's show. He said that he has not thought at all about the future. His focus was 100% on the task at hand...getting the Bearcats into the BCS.

Most importantly, he told Dan that by this Saturday, we will know what Coach Kelly decided with regards to his future. Signing an extension with UC is a distinct possibility.

Interesting listen. I truly don't think he has thought about what his decision will be while he was 100 percent focused on UC, and will do so in the next 48 hours. My read is that he wants an extension at UC, and is waiting to see what that offer is. I would guess that they are in final negotiations and if he is happy with that, he stays. He said he understands the frustrations and does not want to be a distraction, and will get it over with soon.

While obviously there is nothing I would like more than for BK to be coaching the Cats in the Sugar Bowl and for years to come. More that anything I appreciate what I interpret as complete honesty on his part. Go Cats...Lets make sure we take care of BK and make sure that the best opportunity for him and his family is in Cincinnati!

DP asked Kelly if he would guarantee he would coach in the Sugar Bowl, Kelly said he wouldn't guarantee he would make it home tonight. Kelly went on to say he will take the next couple days after the team meeting today to discuss with his family whether or not he would entertain changing jobs. DP asked if we would know by Saturday what his decision would be, and Kelly said yes.

To me it sounded like he's staying.

(oops I thought this was the other thread)

Didn't sound good for him staying. You would think he would know if he wanted to stay or not by now?

Who is to say he is not just working on a better contract extension with how he is wording everything?

Sounds like to me a decision will be made before the banquet (this week?)
While he didn't sound like he was staying, I think he will. I have to believe his family will be the deciding factor.

It sounds like he's wanting UC to sweeten the deal as much as possible. It might not come down to raw dollars for him, but other things, such as future building plans, athletic department infrastructure improvements, etc.

He's got two kids around the 6-year-old range. He might not want to move them around.

I took from that even further confirmation of what i have thought all along. Coach Kelly really really really wants to go to Notre Dame. If they offer he is gone yesterday. That said, I don't think he is going to be offered.

I'm pretty sure it was Tennessee. Washington was also interested in talking to him.

Simple. UC would give him every dime that they possibly could and he already knows that. He isn't trying to go that route and doesn't need too. He also knows UC is limited in being able to pay a coach.

Since we know what he made at CMU, and he makes 10x more then that now, I don't think it's about money. He's probably looking for more upgrades in facilities, especially since ND just went through upgrades matched by no other program. My guess is he wants additional seats added to Nippert asap, along with boxes. Then plans for new stadium on campus or very near.

I don't buy this. Seriously, let's think about this in terms of how must of us could grasp the situation. Let's say you are the CEO of a reputable and well known Software company. You make good money, your wife and kids love where you live, and your employees support you 100 percent. You get wind that the board of directors of Microsoft are looking to replace their CEO and they possibly want to talk to you. Would YOU come right out and say "NO", without talking to them or without any serious thought? You would need to see if the family would consider a move to Washington, what would their money be, what guarantees could you get that you could possibly negotiate into a contract with your current company? A lot of stuff to consider rather than just coming out and saying "No Way!" No matter how happy you are, sometimes you have to listen.
