Would be great if Mike T. would lock him in on a contract extension tonight and have him cancel the meeting - now that would put a huge grin on my face for a long time. Wishful thinking, but, man that would be nice.Bleed red and black and everything else will take care of itself!Comment

I've interviewed to gauge my value and hopefully get a raise to stay at a job I loved. It worked but if they hadn't matched, I would have left. You have to be willing to leave before you try that but I didn't want it to come to that because I was otherwise happy. That was about 10 years ago and I'm still at that job.
Let's hope BK follows my example.

I'm sorry to say, but people here are being naive and seeing what they want to see. People don't interview at Notre Dame for leverage -- they interview with Notre Dame to get the job coaching Notre Dame.
And, really, if Kelly is making this information public and known to the team, it's because he expects to get the job. Otherwise, what situation would he return to in the locker room? A group full of kids who are aware that, if he had his choice, he'd be in South Bend instead of there with them? All this, after telling the kids to their faces that he was going to be their coach next season and calling out their previous coach for lying?
As another football player in town would say, "Child Please."
Kelly wants to leave. By making this public, I think Kelly expects he'll be the next coach of Notre Dame. Anyone seeing otherwise is just trying hard to find the silver lining in a dark, dark cloud.#41
You can give it a patriotic name, but it still sucks.Comment

I know, I'm just reminding all what he told the team. I hope he remembers that tomorrow when he's in the big city, under all the sparkling lights, talking to the beauty queen (ND).
I cannot blame BK for taking the ND job, if he does so.
But if he does, I lose a lot of respect for him because of what he told those guys in the locker room- that he was not going anywhere. To a man, they came out happy and fired up about it, and that emotion was used to help beat Pitt.
I hope he stays!Comment

I hate to say this but I think some of you are looking at this with homer goggles on. Sorry. Im looking forward to partying in New Orleans with you though.Comment

Find me one quote from Coach Kelly that states that he wants to be the coach at ND. Meeting with ND may be nothing more than information gathering on his part. It certainly does not mean that he is good as gone.I'm sorry to say, but people here are being naive and seeing what they want to see. Wrong....
question #1 in the interview..what is your side of the story regarding what happened at CMU
Does this mean they are willing to overlook? Or does this mean that they are thinking..hey we will be in New York, Brian Kelly will be in New York, lets at least talk to him and see what he has to say.Comment

Show one quote where dantonio said he wanted the MSU job, or one where Bobby Petrino said he wanted the Arkansas job, or RIch Rod said he wanted the Mich job... Coaches don't just come out and say they want a different job. Coaches say they are happy, thinking about an extension, etc, etc, but thats not what they really mean.youtube.com/watch?v=2cy_kkCrCzcComment
