I loved the script Cincinnati, up in columbus they can only dot one I we dot 3 of them which makes up 3 times better.
I love shots at OSU.
I hope that cheer really catches on with the crowd so we have more than one cheer that goes with the band

No, I was in such disbelief that we couldn't come up with something of our own that we had to rip off something from a school we are trying to seperate ourselves from. As I stated on another thread, our band is not that of a big time program.

Why do we have to copy Ohio State? I don't mind spelling out Cincinnati on the field but instead of script, why can't we use the italicized Cincinnati, like on the front of our jersey? I thought that it's too much of what OSU does and why do we want to copy them? I took it instead of being a shot at OSU but a copy of, and copying is the highest form of flattery, as they say.

Why? It's a great tradition at Ohio State, and one of the most unique parts of college football. But it's an OHIO STATE tradition, not UC. Ugh.

I didn't see it. If it was in the spirit of poking fun a tOhio State, I'm all for it. I would just rather see our band spend more time at helping encourage new UC traditions....

I'm in the band and this was only a response to the 700 WLW commercials making fun of OSU only being able to spell a 4 letter word and only being able to dot one I. This will not be a tradition, just one year because all of OSU land freaked out at the commercials.

I think it'd be great if the band did start spelling 'Cincy' or 'Cincinnati' in their pregame. I mean, a lot of schools do it: Ohio State's 'Script Ohio', Miami University (Ohio) makes the shape of Ohio with a band member standing in the location of Oxford, WVU makes the shape of WV, etc.

I disagree....we have seen a lot of complaints about the band on this board. While I didn't see it, I think it is pretty cool. They are upping their game. The team is getting better and now it is time for our band to step up. Let's face it, very few of us payed attention to our own band at halftime....at least we are talking about the band. While it may not be original it is a step in the right direction. I say Kudos to the band for mixing it up! Everyone wants to say "create your own identity". OK...start offering up some suggestions. It is easy to critisize but I say offer up some solutions if you don't like it. I am not involved with the band nor do I know anyone in the band. It just pisses me off when the band mixes it up a bit and people want to critisize. They probably spent a ton of time getting this down. I guess they could have just marched out there and provided the same old boring routine and noone would have said anything. I never thought I would say this but....Go Band!! Raise the bar. Sorry for the rant...lot of Beam at this point.

Mark me down as someone who thought it was embarrassing. Just completely copying Ohio State and borderline mediocrely done. But seriously, Ive heard rumors they want to rename Nippert the "Southern Horseshoe". What a joke...please never do that again.
