I have been saying all year that there is a reason we are not mentioned in the same breath as other big named schools and this is the reason why.

Within Div1 there are many more sub divisions.

UC is not my #1 team; I'm clear about that. WVU is my #1 team, but I do like to see UC doing well.

To bobestes, I back up superjames 100%. When he originally came onto this board, he made no bones that his favorite team is WVU but that he also follows UC as well. Nothing he has said in this thread is untrue. I respect him for his honesty and he has not flamed this board in any way. To superjames, I continue to welcome your opinion as I am sure others on this board do as well.

I agree. Superjames has been a good addition. He's not a UC basher and not a WVU homer. His assessments are fair.

BK said, with approval, that the BE had the easiest path to the BCS. Tonight, we saw the downside of that. UC marched through the BE undefeated, and found itself matched with a team that was just too much to handle. Preseason, any of us would have said that a finish in the top three of the BE and a Top 25 ranking would have been a great season for the Cats. We got hot and started attracting NC talk, which was bound to end in disappointment, 'cause we're just not that level of team. Top 25 for sure, Top 10 maybe, Top 5 probably not, NC or runner-up, no way... and I don't mean that as a complaint.

One thing that great teams, NC quality teams, do is (sometimes) put beatdowns on "mere" Top 25 squads. We didn't do that to anyone in or near the Top 25.

Posting this reminder one last time because we need to realize this was not the end of the world. 2006 NC game, tO$U 14, Florida 41. They survived, lost 2 more bowl games, then won the Rose Bowl. We will survive, grow, and win.
