    AD Search

Justin WIlliams with the big scoop: We've hired a search firm to handle our AD search. The firm is College Sports Associates and they have previously helped us hire Luke Fickell and also placed Whit Babcock at VT and Desiree Reed-Francois at UNLV from our department. Sounds like they are slightly familiar with us. Here's the job posting.

Something that came up this past week is that Brandon Sosna is still here. I'm not sure if information was wrong or whether he had second thoughts about USC or whether he decided to wait but apparently he may be interviewing for the permanent gig.

Honestly I expected he'd get an interview. I don't know Brandon personally but I think he has the right energy and forward thinking to fundraise well. He's locally connected to UC. He has experience in both the college and the pros (Cleveland Browns front office.) He's never been a sitting AD but has served in the Asst. AD position so he know the department. I think the personnel changes would be minimal in the office if he gets the job compared to the usual upheaval that happens with an AD change over.

I'm with you, Lobot. I thought he was a natural to follow AD MB and was surprised at the news that he had followed him to SoCal. The fact that he hadn't Tweeted since Oct. 24 solidified my opinion he was gone, but based on your Post I went back and lo and behold he Tweeted something today that indicates he's very much a UC guy and still on duty.

Fairly sure based on tweets from Brian Fox at Bearcat Sports Radio that Zac Selmon from Oklahoma has also interviewed for the position at some point. And yes, He's related to Lee Roy Selmon.

Pat Forde is reporting that Doug Gillin is a serious candidate for AD. He's currently a sitting AD at Appalachian St. He was responsible for App State's move to FBS where they have flourished under multiple coaches.

Here's an article on Gillin from the local news:

And it won’t be Gillin per Bruce Feldman. He was not hired and will stay at App St.

You can squash the rumors about Bohn coming back. He just finally hired Brandon Sosna away from us
