he had wes on - most of the show was about the bball team - JC did talk a little about the player settlement - cincy reigns will roll into a school run nil body, under the settlement. lots of schools trying to come up with a standard player contract.Originally posted by Lobot View Post
I wish I knew. I can never make these Zoom calls because they're at 6:30am here and I'm trying to get my kid to school.

Thanks.. Makes sense. I knew that was coming because NLI is dead. Short notice for ADs on the contract front. Woof...Originally posted by daveh View Post

Makes me wonder if the incoming players will know what they're signing. It's almost like they all need an agent at this point. Crazy.Brent Wyrick

Cunningham mentioned on Chad's podcast last night that the department is close to a sponsorship naming deals for the entries at 5/3 and the Baseball stadium itself. Suprised they haven't done this with Nippert although I might have misheard somethingLast edited by Lobot; 10-31-2024, 08:29 AM.Brent Wyrick

Fans can be disappointed to their hearts’ extent. It won’t change anything until at least after the 2025-26 seasons end. Too much buyout money is owed to both coaches to make a change before then.Originally posted by GoBearcats31 View PostGiven the disappointment in the Scott Satterfield hire and the lack of progress on the men's basketball front, many fans on social media are not very fond of JC right now...

This is the danger in my continued promotion of multi-year NIL contracts too. Too much guaranteed money, not enough incentive clauses. Perform like a bum, get paid like a bum. Perform like a top 50 coach, deliver wins, NCAA berths, and progress into the 2nd/3rd weekend of the Tourney, get paid like a king. Right now, coaches everywhere are getting paid like a king with the hope of future performance. I suppose that could for NIL contracts too.Originally posted by London 'Cat View Post

kinda apples and oranges, but I remember watching joe morgan doing reds games (decades ago) - he'd say that long term, guaranteed contracts would kill MLB - guys would lose the hunger. teams would be afraid of hurting high priced talent and would baby it. apples and oranges, but, whatever the sport, long term guaranteed money = most (not all ) guys getting fat and lazy. now, i think that's going to include a lot of the "amateurs" on the field too.Originally posted by red_n_black_attack View Post
