There's more from Matt Brown at Extra Points on the game this morning including mailbag Q&A with subscribers.
Matt's newsletter is $8 a month is you're interested. The newsletter usually focuses on the business end of college sports.
If you're a hard core gamer and want to read the stuff behind the paywall on EA College Football, here is a gift subscription link. I have two freebies to give away. First come, first served.

When do we get the basketball game? I’d like to retire my PS3, but I still use it for March Madness 2010.Comment

I played it last night. It's pretty good. I find it a lot harder, on All Pro mode, than the older games; in a good way. Much better than Madden. Its sad to see the Bearcats rated a 79 and the Redhawks an 84. The first thing I noticed is that I don't know anyone on this roster, besides a few. The amount of turnover is shocking.Last edited by Flying Jalapeno; 07-16-2024, 07:49 AM.Comment

Looking back at this thread, College Football '25 was a huge deal when it was announced. Insider Gaming dropped a bombshell earlier this week that EA may drop the College Football franchise after College Football 27. Matt Brown at Extra Points dug into why this might happen.
EA paid NIL payments of about $600 per participating player in College Football 25 for roughly 7.5M total . For '27 that number has gone up to $1500 per player and a total of 20M. I don't have any idea what their development costs were from year to year but the '26 version of the game dropped out of the Top 10 sales list about 3 months earlier than '25. So increased expenses plus less sales. EA is also only obligated through it's licensing deal with the CLC to put out College Football 27. The contract ends after that. '
'27 should come out in July so you might want to grab that while it's available on your favorite gaming platform because it's likely to be the last version they put out (again).Last edited by Lobot; Today, 09:31 AM.Brent Wyrick
