In the 2nd game tonight, UC held a 5-4 lead after 8 innings, but yielded an unearned run on no hits to tie. ECU then, squeezed in the lead run in the top of the 10th to go up 6-5. Not to be deterred, the Cats scored twice with 2 outs, aided by an error, and came away victors, 7-6.

The teams go at it again tomorrow.

Cats swept the double header with Tulane yesterday after a 10-6 opening game win and a 2nd game 11-8 W last night. Two more regular season games left today and tomorrow. Both games are at 1:00 at home.

The Cats clobbered the Wave today, 11-1, to get to 28-24. One more to go to end the regular season, then the AAC championship starting Tuesday in Clearwater, with the final the following Sunday.

UC are in 4th place. Tulane are locked into 2nd. ECU won the regular season title. Memphis are dragging behind everyone in 8th place. SMU, Temple and Tulsa do not field teams. Navy plays in the Patriot League.

The Cats lost 5 of 6 to ECU, but are 16-9 versus the rest of the AAC.

That was a wild one at UC. The Cats took a 13-6 lead to the 9th, but Tulane erupted for 6 runs before running out of outs. UC finished the regular season 29-24 (18-14 in AAC play).

The Cats will face off with UCF in the tourney opener Tuesday morning (9:00). If they win, they'll get a day off; lose and play Wednesday @ 3:00. The two teams split a four-game series here in April.

If you’re strictly referring to sweeps in the AAC, the answer is never before yesterday.

Final: UCF 14-10. The Cats loaded the bases with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, but RF Paul Komistek, who already had homered twice, lined out to LF to end it. So, UC will play again tomorrow versus either #8 Memphis or #1 ECU at 3:00.

Last I checked Memphis was about to upset ECU. So we get the misfortune of drawing the 1 seed in the loser's bracket.
