Multiple outlets reporting that Charlie Baker will replace Mark Emmert as NCAA President on March 1. Baker is currently the governor of Massachusetts. His term expires in January.
Hopefully this translates into better leadership for whatever the NCAA becomes down the road.

Charlie Baker is getting the first big test to his administration and whether the NCAA is about become sane. This case is going to be one to watch regarding the transfer portal and eligibility for Aziz Bandaogo and Jamille Reynolds on the men's basketball side of things. It's not quite the same scenario but if the case doesn't come out in favor of the athlete, all the two time non-graduate transfers are screwed.

That could be bad or it could be good. That organization is in desperate need of leadership without a historical way of doing things perspective to shake up the culture. Perhaps the new president will strike up a TV deal with Amazon to create an NCAA driven football playoff and bypass CFP Committee. The NCAA really missed the boat on this when tv revenue was just starting to bloom in late 80's/early 90's.Originally posted by Lobot View Post
They hired a career politician with no sports experience outside of playing baseball at Harvard. It can most certainly get worse.

It couldn't get any worse than the direction that we are heading.
