I thought deserved it's own thread. Cincy Reigns is the main NIL collective for UC. I let them explain themselves here.

I held off commenting on this topic until everybody got settled in a little bit. If you're just a fan, alumni or donor or all of those things, this collective should be promoted heavily as it the main fundraising arm to provide athletes with direct support in the age of NIL. NIL rules are subject to change still but for now this is where you can help get recruits to the university and get them paid, legally.
Earlier last month I directly asked someone in university fundraising this question, If I'm a donor to the sports programs, where do I really need to put my money to keep UC competitve especially with the BIg XII move coming up in July? That person's answer was Cincy Reigns. This is how you attract recruits now whether any of us like it or not.
This doesn't mean UCATS is dead but they have a different purpose with Cincy Reigns on the job for athletes. I don't entirely have my ducks a row on this statement probably, but UCATS is probably going to exist solely for the operational budget of the Athletic department with Cincy Reigns being a de facto pay for play operation for the athletes themselves. Everything is in flux right now.
Right now a big hang up for myself and a lot of donors is Cincy Reigns 501c3 tax exempt status. I have been told from multiple involved parties that the process has begun but everybody's stuck in limbo because federal bureaucracy is what it is. So, if you donate to Cincy Reigns right this second, your donation would qualify for a charitable tax deduction in 2023 IF the IRS process completes by the end of the tax year.
I choose to take a minor risk on this about a week ago because they currently have a donor matching up to 50,000 through the end of this week for the Let's Reign Campaign.
This is the best video of the John Cunningham and Brian Fox presser on the current campaign that I can find on Youtube:

I will say, if you're a little confused, you're not alone. The messaging on all this hasn't been great at most universities but a lot is due to fact that this is all new territory for all parties and there aren't a lot of rules in place at the NCAA level to manage all the changes quite yet.
If I didn't get any of this right, let me know. I don't want to make the confusion worse.
