Soccer people help me out here. A friend of mine watched this game yesterday and noticed that the clock was counting down to 0:00 rather than counting up to 90:00 + stoppage which is what you see in the pro leagues. Anyone have any idea why it 's like that?

I believe in NCAA soccer, it is up to the schools to use a clock that counts up or down. Most schools choose to count down.

          Per NCAA rules:

Rule 6.3.1 states, “When an electronically controlled
scoreboard clock is visible to both benches and spectators, it shall be used as the official
timepiece. The clock may count up or down; however, it is recommended that it count down. ”
In NCAA tournament games, the clock will count down per NCAA committee procedures.
During the regular season, each school can make its own decision on whether the clock
          counts up or down.
