Just watched Annette throw. She was not expected to be a factor going in and is currently 1st place going into the final 3 rounds.

After 3 of 6 hammer throws, Annette Echikunwoke leads the field by a full meter.

A Canadian women fired one out there 1.5 meters beyond Annette's best toss. Silver for Echikunwoke. That's wonderful!

Annette could've won her medal for Nigeria, but their Olympic committee blew it in 2021 when they failed to enroll her. So, she switched sides.

It's already ruined. The gold medalist, Camryn Rogers, was born in British Columbia and graduated from Cal-Berkeley.

In the final set, Jordan Thompson made an incredible dig of a deflected kill that kept a long rally alive, which the US won to tie the set at 6. She then had a big kill to take a 7-6 lead.
