I can't find any information re this. Is there anything in print or on-line?

I am not sure about this. If they move up, they will probably stink for a decade. We are just too late to the game. That being said, when Miami decided to semi defund their basketball and football teams, they made the final four in hockey. UC will not abandon our top teams but we may have enough money to invest in a pretty good hockey team with NIL and if there is a big enough fan with deep pockets.

ACHA D1 is just a higher level of club hockey. It is paid for by participant fees, and fundraising. The University does not sponsor hockey as a varsity sport just club level. They allow the club to use the UC logos, and that is about it.

True Bearcat It's been a club sport in the past for sure but this seems to be something different based on their announcement. My first take was on the announcement was that this would be a Title IX issue unless the university is getting ready to pull a softball team together. Then again, Title IX might be a moot thing between current politics and NIL.

The Bearcats won their season opener last night (9/27) against Central Michigan 12-2.

The hockey team has actually performed well this season. They are having a fundraiser by selling raffle tickets for a jersey. As I have stated before, I am tired of sending my money to losing causes for sports that are getting out of control. I like the Olympic sports and the club sports.
