The Bearcats are 1-0 to start the season with a 11-5 win over Jax State.
The Cats won again on Saturday, 6-5, but fell, 1-0, today to wrap up the series at Jacksonville State. I watched quite a bit of the game. The ESPN+ play-by-play man had a distinctive voice that I didn't expect. It was Eli Gold, the longtime Bama radio play-by-play voice.
UC will move over to Auburn for a game Tuesday, then head to Birmingham for a 4-game series at UAB, starting Thursday.
After Quinton Coates jacked a 3-run HR to go up on the Blazers in the 8th, 9-6, UAB tallied a 2-run blast in the bottom half. UC then added two runs in the 9th for an 11-8 lead. However, the Blazers walked it off with an opposite-field HR. Final: UAB 12-11.

rough day for the pitching staff - i didn't hear the announcers mention it, but it seemed like the wind was pushing anything hit to right field a bit. fwiw, coates' had a no doubter to left - definitely not wind aided
Another bad day for the pitching staff in Birmingham. The Blazers jacked 4 homers on their way to an 8-3 win over the Bearcats. Two more games there this weekend.
Bischel Ball rebounded on Saturday afternoon, taking down UAB, 8-4. Quinton Coates did the big damage with a grand slam. The Bearcats are 4-3, with the finale versus the Blazers on Sunday afternoon.
UC ended up splitting the series against UAB with an 8-6 win on Sunday. 5-3 on the year so far. Next up is a home game against Bowling Green on Wednesday 2/25 @3pm.

Per accuweather.com, the temps at first pitch should be about 55F, dropping to the upper 40's through the game. It could be worse, such as what FCC's opponents will face that evening. O&M FC are from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. They don't get temps in the 40's down there.
