BYU held on late to beat the Bearcats today, 10-9. UC had runners at 2nd & 3rd in the 9th, but failed to get them in. The Cats are now 15-6.

The team is staying in Utah, with games at UT Valley on Monday &Tuesday, followed by a 3-game set versus the Utes over the weekend.

I just wonder how these kids can maintain their class work while on the road for a whole week. I remember having to beg my professors to allow me to take exams early because the track team was going to be gone for a long weekend.

That Cats took down Utah Valley in 8-innings due to the mercy rule. Ryan Tyranski hit a grand slam.

Cats beat Utah Valley again today 6-3. It was a low scoring affair most of the game up until the 7th inning. Tyranski hit a 2-run HR to widen the Cats lead to 5-2. Coats also added a solo HR. UC is now 17-6 on the season.

              From our homeboys at GoBearcats.com
"OREM, Utah – The University of Cincinnati baseball team wrapped up its road trip out west with a 6-3 win at Utah Valley on Tuesday.

The win improved UC to 17-6 on the year.

Cincinnati trailed for much of the game, totaling just one run on two hits through six innings. The bats woke up in the seventh, however, as a couple extra-base hits brought in four runs and gave UC its first lead of the day. Sophomore Quinton Coats homered in the top of the eighth to add to the lead, putting the finishing touch on the 6-3 victory."

After beating Utah yesterday 13-4, on only one extra base hit, UC came out crushing the ball today. Coats and Natili each hit 3 home runs in the game. The Cats run-ruled Utah 20-10 in 8 innings as Natili's 3rd home run of the game essentially served as a walk off. Coats now leads all D1 baseball with 18 home runs.

What position does Coats play? Is he a senior?

Tough loss at home today. The Cats were down 10-2 after 6 innings and battled back to take the lead 11-10 going into the 9th inning. Utah came back and scored 3 runs to take the lead 13-11. UC could not rally back in their half of the 9th inning. UC is now 19-7 on the season and 3-3 in the Big 12.
