UC blew a double digit second half lead, losing to eventual NCAA Champ Texas Western in OT. UC committed 18 turnovers, Roland West scored 19 and Ron Crick 18 for UC. Johnny Howard nearly made a half court shot at the end of the OT, rimmed out. After the loss to UCF, I found myself remembering that game. Texas Western beat Kentucky 72-65 for the NCAA Championship.

Ron Krick....I remember that game too

Ron Krick had shoulder issues that cut his basketball career short. Before arriving at UC, he broke Wilt Chamberlain's PA HS scoring record. He went on to perform as a standup comedian - a 6'10" giant with a funny guitar routine. He passed away in 2011.
