  • Where is he now?: Abdul Herrera

I was looking over the NCAA leagues on ESPN and came across Kansas State. I noticed they were 8-3, so I clicked on their schedule. After browsing K-State's roster to see how many defections they had after last season (Beasley and Walker being the primary exports), I noticed Abdul Herrera at the bottom. As many of you are astute UC basketball fans, you will remember that this kid provided high hopes and many of us thought he would be an instant contributor.

Well, so far this season, Herrera: has played in 4 games, averaging 4.3 minutes, scoring 1.3 points, and grabbing 1.3 rebounds. I figured some of you might find this interesting.

Not very interesting, Herrera was a dud when he was at UC, no reason to think he would get better.

I talk (via E-Mail) to K-St staffer now-n-then. Herrera is doing fine there. His numbers may not be great but he is a valued member of the program.

It's goofy for anyone to call him a Dud.

Like several Bearcats recruited in 2006 by current coach.

LOL... no... even Tim Crowell was a better player than Herrera.

FACT. More than several recruits by the former UC coach were duds.

Still a sad commentary on your contributions to this forum. You've reduced yourself to criticizing Mick and/or praising BH in nearly every post. Sometimes blatantly, sometimes snide. The saddest part is that you used to have good things to contribute. Sad - FACT!

No doubt. Mick Cronin (et al) will sign duds, too.

I remember MANY UC recruits in the 1990's and early 2000's as pretty darn good players. Numerous NBA draft picks. Several All-Americans. Etc, etc, etc.
