I agree with him and Kevin Johnson to a great extent but I have to say that the NIL era has changed the ways things work and they did not play in that world.

I agree with him and Kevin Johnson to a great extent but I have to say that the NIL era has changed the ways things work and they did not play in that world.

There are multiple stories of high draft picks in MLB, NFL, NBA getting that money and stopping to work. Some of these kids are getting hundreds of thousands of dollars, and they have to have amentor that can help them realize this is just the tip of the iceberg. NCAA football and basketball players make more than G-League, XFL, CFL, and most overseas basketball or football equivalents because the NCAA is popular, so the kids are getting their current value. At issue is cana coach help them continue to work hard, improve and get to the NFL/NBA or will the kid say this is my peak, I can coast and still make it in any other league than NBA/NFL and manage this nest egg so I can make ends meet on GLeague or XFL salary. For some, the motivation to be the best is a part of their DNA, like Kevin and Killa, but for some they need a swift kick in the butt. Sean is right to recommend the current players be held accountable or they won't make it to the top level.
