  • PGA golfer Jim Herman

Gotta give a shout out to Jim Herman, a former UC and St. X HS golf team member for winning his first PGA event in Houston today. He's been to Q-School 7 times and played the last 4 seasons on the Web.com tour and now has a free ride to the Masters next weekend. I watched a good portion of the final round and he was pretty much playing out his mind including a chip in on 16.

Mark Rolfing one of the NBC announcers said he thought it was the best round of golf he has seen this spring. Johnny Miller kept waiting for him to crash under the pressure but he just wouldn't do it. Congratulations to Jim Herman!!

He's exempt for the 2020 U.S majors except the Masters. He may get an invite there as well at a later date. 2nd career title for Herman.

Jim just announced on Twitter that he’s contracted Covid-19. Prayers up for Jim and hopefully he can get back on the course soon.

Jim is teeing off for round 4 of the Masters currently. He's +6 going into the final round and well out of the lead unfortunately. He did make the cut after Friday. Had trouble with the wind yesterday on the course.

Hermie is in the clubhouse at the PGA championship at +9 after today's round. The leader is currently at -5 so the cut is looming.

No one has posted here in three years, but Hermie recently qualified for the US Open.

"Forty-six-year-old Jim Herman, a three-time PGA Tour winner, was the last man to prevail after dropping a 15-foot putt for birdie on his third playoff hole. He topped Michael Miller, Raul Pereda and Peter Bradbeer for the last spot. This will be Herman’s sixth U.S. Open appearance and first since 2020."
