I had heard that knowing he was leaving one and done, he had a soft schedule and rarely attended. That was the rumor mill from on campus but I can't substantiate that. Remember these guys really only needed to stay eligible for one semester as the season would be done before the second one ended. He had eligibility issues coming out of high school which is why he was available so late. Hard to believe he developed good study habits in 4 months at UC.

I hope he can make it back for another run in the league and his Covid / China situation was just unlucky timing.
Who knows what classes he was in and obviously the name of the game was eligibility. But is there anything to suggest he wasn't in good academic standing?

"Lance Stephenson did great (academically)," Cronin said. "He was over 3.0 (grade point average) in his time at Cincinnati, but he wasn't around enough to even be close to an associate's degree." https://www.cincinnati.com/story/spo...dones/7647771/

From Zags. Man, this is rough. Lance was set to sign with the Pacers again for this abbreviated season but since he played in China he got blocked by NBA policy on COVID-19.

Update: His act is playing very well over there. Went for a career record 45, 10, and 9 earlier today. They can't guard him.

This article goes back a few days but it's a pretty good profile on Lance's summer in Indy before he left for LA.

Lance has signed his contract with the Lakers and it's come out that LeBron was the one who recruited him there.

Can't imagine they would sign and trade Lance but that's a possibility too. If they trade Ball to the Spurs it's going to be a debacle because there is absolutely no way Popovich is going to put up with LaVar.

The Lakers signed Rajon Rondo; now they have two PGs (Ball and him) that don't shoot well, which is not the formula for success with LeBron. LJ needs good shooters around him so he can drive, which in turn allows him room to shoot; he can't be the only shooter on the team..

I do think Ball will be the odd man out somehow. Whatever his strengths, I don't think Magic Johnson will want Lavar around screwing with LeBron.

Listening to Golic & Wingo this morning, chances are Lonzo could be the odd man out.... Not a great shooter, and if they use Lonzo as a package deal to get Leonard, it's a win for the Lakers...
