Happ just ....wait for it... pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Not sure what led to that.

The Cards bombed the Cubbies, so the smartest-manager-ever-to-manage used three position players (for 3 and a third innings) so as to not eat into the bullpen any further. Happ pitched the ninth and was the only one of the three who didn't give up a run. Happ CAN do everything.!

Been a while since this thread has been updated. Happ was an Allstar this year with the Cubs and will be doing announcing things in the upcoming Field of Dreams game this coming Thursday along with Joey Votto.

              ESPN's Jeff Passan:

Outfielder Ian Happ and the Chicago Cubs are in agreement on a three-year, $61 million contract extension, sources tell ESPN. The deal will run from 2024-26 and takes one of the best potential free agent bats off the market. First on the scene was @Michael_Cerami

Happ brought home a second Gold Glove award for the past season. That's back to back for Happ.

Back to back to back per Tim Adams. Picked up a third one for this past season.
