I just missed Cheryl's career at UC. I knew the name from the sports page but It didn't really connect until they unveiled the retired jersey's after Shoemaker Center opened. She was/is the only women's player recognized.

Per the below article, the women's team will celebrate it's 50th anniversary on Feb. 19

Well, you just made me feel old. We crossed paths a couple of time just because of using the same practice facilities. We all knew of the legend in the making. We also hoped that she was enough to catapult UC women's b-ball to the next level. Of course, that never happened.
