    The Basketball Tournament 2022

TBT was home to Mel Levett's Bearcat Jam teams for a few yeas before COVID. I'm not sure if this team is continuing or whether Mel needs to focus on other stuff at this point.

Well, we now have Kevin Johson's Nasty Nati team which looks like it's going to be mostly Cronin era players. No final roster has been announced but the wish list has lots of Cronin's overseas guys.

    More to come I'm sure.

TBT has a social fan angle to it, meaning if they don't get fan support over social media, they don't qualify for the tournament. This is what caused the downfall of Bearcat Jam the last go around if I'm not mistaken

      Nasty Nati is in.

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) – the $1 million, winner-take-all summer basketball event broadcast live on ESPN networks – today revealed that Nasty Nati, the University of Cincinnati alumni team, has gained entry into this year's 64 team field.

            Here is the bracket

Nasty Nati got the #4 seed in its regional at Xavier. They face #5 Fort Wayne Champs, which is mostly a bunch of smaller school alums - though looks like they have lots of TBT experience before (10-6 record). The game is July 18th at 6:00 at Cintas Center...looks the UC-heavy roster includes UNCG standout Isaiah Miller, which is cool. https://gobearcats.com/news/2022/6/2...y-july-18.aspx

If NN wins they would face #1 Florida TNT (includes Kenny Boynton of Florida and a few AAC alums like Houston's Rob Gray) or #8 Team AboutBillions (coached by Steve Logan, includes Justin Jenifer and OSU alum Marc Loving)

Xavier is the #3 seed in the region.

Nasty Nati has added two guys from the Houston area in Marquez Letcher-Ellis(Rice), Ty Jordan (Malone College) . They also signed G league player Isaiah Miller, formerly of UNCG to the roster.

                    An even better photo
Good run with my UC young boys today. Blessed to still be able to get up and down and be somewhat effective at 42

Projected starters for game 1: Caupain, Evans, Cumberland, Ellis and Marquez Letcher-Ellis (looks like he played two years at Rice)

Winner gets the #1 seed, who won by 57 today

Reminded me of a Cronin team. Struggled to hit open shots. It was fun to see some of the guys play though. Caupain could not hit anything.

Death. Taxes. Losing at Cintas Center.

Was fun watching some of the third and fourth (outside of seeing Evans drain a 3/4-court shot, he missed about 5 threes while I was watching...was fun seeing Cumberland since we didn't get the closure to his senior year with the COVID-canceled postseason).
