    Nolley loves the kids

Also says he "loves playing here" (heart emoji) and says "only 4 home games (sad emojis) left this year"

UC is making good progress and has some good recruits in the pipeline for next year. But the key to the 2023-24 season would clearly be Landers Nolley using his final year of eligibility and leading this team into the Big 12. He does turn 23 in March and obviously has a daughter, for what it's worth - though he could easily rack up some solid NIL money.

Putting his name in the draft, per Draft Express (ESPN) - "Cincinnati wing Landers Nolley will declare for the 2023 NBA Draft, he told ESPN. Nolley was named first-team All-AAC after leading the Bearcats in scoring at 16.7 points per game, shooting 42% for 3. He accepted an invite to attend the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April"

"a chance to return to the university of Cincinnati" not college. Nice. Either way it never a bad thing to have a guy drafted.

I honestly think this the right move for him. It’s win-win for him. He gets evaluated by pro scouts and goes pro at some level if he’s ready. If they evaluate him and tell him he needs to work on things, he comes back and presumably we throw NIL money at him. Nice situation to find yourself in.

I can't fault a kid who would be in his 6th year of school testing all options. He was a very good pickup for us, and it will be interesting to see if they have an understanding with him on holding his scholly for a period or they move forward. My guess is the former.

Apparently Nolley will be playing in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT) in VA on April 13. I'm researching but that might kill his NCAA eligibility. So if he doesn't get with scouts in personal workouts or in Chicago, he might only have three weeks to figure which path he's going to take.

I think you’re right. If he plays in Portsmouth, his college career is over. I was hoping he’d stay, but this is not a surprise.

Courtney Ramey who played at Arizona this year missed the first three games of the season after playing in PIT last year. If PIT is still not certified it shouldn’t end Nolley’s eligibility if he plays in that event - maybe just a small suspension.

My understanding is that if you do not obtain an agent, then you can come back. Either way, I think that he is gone.

I’m looking at the PIT website and it says nothing about certification either way. It’s not directly NBA affiliated but that may not mean anything. It’s only open to seniors in good academic standing.

I think you can come back if you hire a NCAA certified agent. I’m not sure how agents get certified, but I’m pretty sure some guys did that in the past. I believe Jarron Cumberland did that, then returned.
