    Getting a tryout with Denver
Biggest name perhaps at Broncos rookie minicamp this weekend: QB Desmond Ridder is getting a vet tryout with Broncos, per source. Former Univ. of Cincinnati star was Atlanta Falcons' 3rd-rd draft pick in 2022. Started 13 games in 2023. With Cardinals and Raiders last year.

@TomPelissero: The #Raiders informed QB Desmond Ridder they won’t tender him as a restricted free agent, per source. The former Cincinnati star, Ridder has 18 career starts for Atlanta and Las Vegas. An experienced option now set to hit the market.

He's needs to be backup on a team with a good QB. So far his "teachers" have been Mariota and Minshew.

His o line was down 5 players and he didn't really have a chance.

Desmond got a little emotional talking about the move to LV.

“I got cut…my daughter was like where are you going? I do everything for my family.” Newly signed Raiders quarterback Desmond Ridder appears to get choked up upon signing with the team. Great question by @HeidiFang 🎥: By @Sean_Zittel, Vegas Sports Today #RaiderNation

It would be wild to see him eventually wind up with the Bengals since Zac Taylor was his original recruiter in college. Zac never coached him at any point though.

I think his agent/team and the NFL will be able to keep him on a roster/practice squad to qualify for the NFL pension at this point, which I believe kicks in after 4 seasons get technical around roster/practice squad/etc. After than though, I'd love to see him back in Clifton on staff. I think he embodies a lot of what Marcus Freeman brought into recruiting/leadership/role model during his early years in coaching before rounding out the X's and O's.

Unfortunately for Ridder he is not an elite passer. This will be his life in the NFL. Up and Down. I wonder if he will ever play in the UFL.
