    Justin Williams:

BREAKING: In Ohio vs NCAA, Judge John Preston Bailey issues a temporary restraining order (for the next 14 days) that grants immediate eligibility to any college athletes currently seeking it via a multi-transfer waiver. Next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 27, 2023.

          From Justin Williams:

Also important to note that in addition to enjoining the NCAA from enforcing its year of residence rule for multi-time transfers, the judge also did the same for the NCAA rule of restitution, meaning schools can't be punished for playing impacted athletes over the next 14 days.

Good news if that holds up, I still remember what happened to Memphis when they played Wiseman.

"Given today’s temporary restraining order issued by Judge John Preston Bailey, we are evaluating the situation as it pertains to men’s basketball student-athlete Jamille Reynolds. We are consulting with our legal counsel, our compliance office and our league office. We will have further updates as they become available."

There will also be no retroactive punishment to the athlete who plays in the 14 day window between tomorrow and Dec. 27 if the TRO is overturned on that date.

Seems like that is being walked back - still TBD

If eligibility becomes permanent, how many years or semesters does he have remaining? And is eligibility counted in years or semesters? Would it make sense for him to redshirt until the beginning of the next semester?

And, you can end up on the NCAA naughty list, which they’ll remember when you need something else. Just be sure before we go ahead.

Eligibility is measured by seasons played. It wouldn't matter if Reynolds plays now or waits until January.

Nicole Auerbach (The Athletic): It remains unclear whether now-eligible transfers who play in games during the 14-day window of the TRO could lose a whole year of eligibility if the ruling is overturned on Dec. 27. Even the NCAA isn’t sure about that year-of-eligibility piece, as of Thursday morning.

                              Also from Nicole:

The NCAA sent out updated guidance to members and says that now-eligible transfers could still lose a year of eligibility by playing during the 14-day TRO if the court order is reversed
