Griffith scored 17 with 6 rebounds today, as Taft beat defending Ohio D3 champ Cleveland Heights Lutheran East, 56-43. The Senators led only 47-43 at the 5:15 mark, but shut the Falcons out the rest of the way.

Taft will play Sunday for the D3 championship at UD Arena.

Unfortunately a player like Kenyon isa once in lifetime player, also his stats through his first 2 years were nothing to write home about. Get some long and athletic guys who have a bit of a nasty streak and teach them to be dogs on defensive end, and mix in some positional size shooter and some rebounders and keep the bearcat blue print of big strong defensive minded players alive. Cronin wad pretty successful with taking good efficient shots and defending like men. Rebounding like men. I want uc to get bigger faster twitch athletes that develop and mix in a few higher offensive skilled players in. Cincinnati has to keep the defensive mentality unless they turn into a 5 star nba factory type college, I know cronin didnt do well in the tournament. I think a lot was the pressure his team felt when things were not going uc way. Miller has to understand that with this team now, they need to turn things ugly, make it a rock fight, make teams have to defend u almost 20 to 25 seconds while passing and taking best shot possible. Teach them to box out, rdont be afraid to bench players even if only for 2 to 5 minutes. It's obvious there's things that if he could sure up we definitely could make a run in conference tournament. Rayvon has potential to be a really good player, but temper expectations even on some higher rated freshman because they are freshman. Griffith would be a nice get and wonderful player but he has things he also needs to fix, such as getting stronger, being more alpha consistently. Uc is definitely best place for him when it comes to those things.

Unfortunately it does not always pan out. Look at Memphis who is loaded with top rated players as well as Kentucky, Duke, N Carolina, etc. It is a good starting point though. I think that UC needs one Kenyon Martin type player to be successful. We may get that in our next recruiting class, it does not have to be a big.
