Actually, Newman was transferring to UNC Greensboro. He decommitted on 3/20/21 and transferred to Cincinnati following Miller.

I would only want Tillery and McKinley
They are both young and would be better fit long term. Tillery is a playmaker and McKinley can be another Erick Hicks

I thought I saw that McKinley was headed elsewhere. But I can't find anything on him entering the portal or transferring elsewhere. He could be a solid bench player. I'd love to see Tillery stay at UC. I think he can be very special.

I saw it too and when I went to see it again, I couldn't find it. It was stated he went to play for his HS coach and not the Cincy ones.( Link Academy,)

Actually never knew that. Thanks for clarifying.

It was McNeese State. Can’t believe he would consider going there vs what UC offers

The staff took Brumbaugh to MRBL in Bellevue (high-end steakhouse overlooking the skyline along the river) last night. There were comments (probably speculative) that he'd make an announcement today. However, he's supposed to visit at least one other school this coming week (either Clemson or SC).

We have a basketball program and coaches, but no players (except 2 from what I understand). We have been here before. It will be very interesting to see who Calhoun brings in. Hopefully, UC can sign them for at least two years if the eligibility is there. Player stability, in today's game, is probably the best way for UC to produce a perpetually winning team. It will be interesting to see who wants to be a Bearcat.

Bearcats not in the portal (yet):
                          Jalen Haynes
                          Jordi Rodriguez
                          Tyler McKinley
                          Halvine Dzellat

Seems like more commitment news is coming - at least based on cryptic late night tweets, most notably a GIF posted from one of the new assistants. Name of the player? No idea. :-)

“Cincinnati transfer Keyshaun Tillery is receiving interest from these schools, he told @LeagueRDY:

Twitter would have me believe it's Tyler Tejada. But Twitter has misled me before. Below is my previous assessment.

But my concern is that he's a poor shooter who shoots more from midrange than anywhere else on the floor. I've seen too much of that over the last 20 years. If Calhoun can get him to improve shot selection, he could be valuable. He was abysmal in 3 games against Big12 competition, shooting 15% from three and was unable to get to the line and posted a negative DBPM. So some upside but a few red flags.
