So is All Wright. Didn't we recruit him before he ended up at Xavier?

There's no doubt that, for any players considering transferring, their agents have already started the process of getting the word out. The players can't be in the portal until it opens, but that's a technicality. In the case of UC (and other schools with coaching changes) the portal will open five days after the new coach is announced, rather than waiting for 4/7/26. That gives the staff at least some shot at retaining the players they'd like to keep.

Also, indications are that GM Corey Evans is staying. That could change but he's likely to be here during this entire process. He's undoubtedly in contact with the eligible players to gauge their intentions and to determine which are wanted and salvageable. If the new coach has an MOU in place (quietly), he'd certainly express his opinions as to the types of players he'd want, both within the current roster and from outside.

An increasing # of tweets this week about D1 guys intending to hit the portal. Not a ton of (current) power conference guys, but they're coming.

So, here is the roster, as of 3/24. I assume Haynes will be given the extra year, doubtful for Kriisa. Who goes and who stays?

          Jizzle James
          Tyler McKinley
          Halvine Dzellat
          Sencire Harris
          Kerr Kriisa ??
          Jalen Haynes??
          Shon Abaev
          Keyshaun Tillery
          Moustapha Thiam
          Jordi Rodriguez
          Bryson Buckingham

Not sure who stays or goes. My guess James and Abaev are gone. Kriisa won’t have eligibility - gone. Haynes - no idea but likely to stay because he won’t have other options. Tillery and Thiam have apparently been offered to stay. Not sure about Rodriguez.

What about Kaden Allen? Does he re-commit now that a coach has been named?

Well, maybe Abaev will reconsider since Calhoun is know more as an offensive coach. I think he would have been gone if Wes stayed.

Utah State big Karson Templin intends to hit the portal, his agent tells Draft Express. The 6'9 230 lb. junior (rising senior) from Texas was the MW 6th Man of the Year, posting 8.2 and 4.2 in 19 mins per game.

"I thought Templin played his best game of his career here," Calhoun said. "He fits our system really well. I think he's really bought into how we play. I think he's comfortable."
