5th Year transfer recruits

So why not 10 years if you use that logic. We've had plenty of great players who after 4 years have moved on to be successful, and they didn't get paid anything.
I came from a very, very modest background. We had $25 to our name when we got married but earned enough to pay our bills (barely) We worked and worked and made our way. Lot's of people start with nothing. It's what you do with your life after that that counts.
I wish all these kids well as they go forward in life. I'm not against them earning some great money. I like to see everyone doing well. Four years is plenty to get a good start but then it's time to move on.

I don't think I missed anything (it seems they are TRYING to change the rule to 5 years) and I didn't change anything. I try not repeat myself, I will if you missed it, I wish they would go back to play 4, then out the door.
Just like it was for years and years pre-Covid.

We can like it, tolerate it, or hate it, but the "4 years and out" ship has sailed, never to return.

I can see where a guy who graduated last year or exhausted 4 years of eligibility, could enroll for Fall term and be matriculated to be eligible for basketball or winter/spring. I cannot see how a football player who last took classes in Dec 2025, entered the draft, etc.. would be eligible is they didn't take summer or spring term classes.
