So why not 10 years if you use that logic. We've had plenty of great players who after 4 years have moved on to be successful, and they didn't get paid anything.
I came from a very, very modest background. We had $25 to our name when we got married but earned enough to pay our bills (barely) We worked and worked and made our way. Lot's of people start with nothing. It's what you do with your life after that that counts.
I wish all these kids well as they go forward in life. I'm not against them earning some great money. I like to see everyone doing well. Four years is plenty to get a good start but then it's time to move on.

I don't think I missed anything (it seems they are TRYING to change the rule to 5 years) and I didn't change anything. I try not repeat myself, I will if you missed it, I wish they would go back to play 4, then out the door.
Just like it was for years and years pre-Covid.

I can see where a guy who graduated last year or exhausted 4 years of eligibility, could enroll for Fall term and be matriculated to be eligible for basketball or winter/spring. I cannot see how a football player who last took classes in Dec 2025, entered the draft, etc.. would be eligible is they didn't take summer or spring term classes.

The Big XII joined the SEC earlier in declaring players who have gone pro from returning to college athletics in the conference. I saw this morning that the Big 10 and ACC have now also made the same move. The outlier seems to LSU who is trying to challenge the move by the SEC.

This does not affect International players on pro clubs who enroll in college. It would only affect them if they left college and went pro and tried to return to college. TL/DR once you sign a post college pro contract you can't come back to school .

So if they play college sports then they are ineligible for college sports? If you get paid to do something you are a pro.

Maybe James wants to return. I read a quote from CJC - he has never spoken with James. I'd say odds are slim to none.

I'm not sure it does. CJC wants positional length and a smaller guard with an average wingspan doesn't really fit that mold. Plus, Jizzle made some comment on social media about expecting to start-he would be hard-pressed to beat out most of the current guards for a starting spot. Also, a ball dominant guard who is an inefficient scorer (i.e. likes to dribble out 20 seconds of the shot clock and then either take a long 2 or make a pass to a big with 2 seconds left) does not fit CJC's offensive model. At all. CJC also said clearly that if you hit the portal, there's no going back. All in all, as another poster said, I hope Jizzle figures out his life-he CLEARLY has a lot of issues. With that being said, please let this be a hard pass-bringing him back sets them back for another year.
