Shocker...
Memphis is accused of obstructing an investigation and showing a lack of institutional control, per this "article" (there is literally no additional details) https://dailymemphian.com/section/sp...o-ncaa-charges

Four Level 1 violations, and three level 2. Ouch. The paper got this through a public records request. Maybe why some dirty coaches would like to coach at the private schools.Shocker...

The one action on the part of UM that really puts them in a bad spot is their apparent obstruction of the investigation, whether it be clearing Mike Miller’s hard drive or coaching witnesses after having been instructed not to speak to them.Comment

We knew how PH got it done prior to him becoming the coach. If you recall, he paid recruits as a booster of Memphis just before he became coach.Comment

He paid the down payment on Wiseman’s house after convincing the family to move to Memphis so Wiseman could play for him prior to him being HC at Memphis. When he became HC , that became an extra benefitBrent Wyrick

Not to say there are not concerns with Memphis and not to minimize it. However, if these allegations are true, would the investigation be any different if it were say Duke, UNC, tosu, Kansas? Let me remind you of the computer theft and grade changing scandals at UNC.Last edited by bearcatbret; 03-26-2022, 04:53 PM.Comment

Doesn' t make any difference what the allegations are or how severe. Memphis is notorious for this. They will pay the fines (if any) adhere to the sanctions and continue to do business as usual. PH may or may not be let go but if he is he'll land at another school that's famous for being continually investigated making more money and be lauded and hyped up as a great coach. Just look at the presser introducing Sean Miller as X's new coach. Not one mention from any media that he left ASU in chaos.Comment

Again. Does anybody think Miller and Richardson only started cheating when they got to Arizona? Miller is back, but his career is on the way down. Richardson will probably never coach again. Here's a fascinating, in-depth look by Seth Davis (theathletic.com; $) into the life of Book Richardson, both before and after his conviction for bribery.
