To be fair, he called that TO with more than two seconds left, and the ref didn’t give it to him. Watch the replay and you can see him screaming at the ref standing right next to him. Day Day got open after the TO but rushed the shot, with two seconds he might have made it. I criticized Miller a lot on that one, but it’s not all his fault. Not having Tillery in late certainly was his fault.

I would almost guarantee that Calhoun finds UC attractive. He is a graduate and former graduate assistant at UC. Plus he cut his coaching teeth under Huggs at WVU.Originally posted by leeraymond372@gmail.com View PostIf UC is interested in hiring J. Calhoun, it must wait because Utah State beat UNLV by 20 yesterday and is still rolling in tournament play. Also, my guess is that Utah State will get an NCAA Tournament bid regardless of what happens in the MW Conference Tournament. UC has probably already talked with the candidates that it has on its list of potential coaches. With Zoom and Microsoft Teams, anyone can talk with anyone else without spending money on travel and lodging. Also, the parties can talk behind the scenes. If Calhoun is the guy that UC wants and he has accepted an offer, then they may already have an agreement that nothing will be made official until after April 1, 2026. My guess is that both parties have already been in discussions. However, because of the legal aspects of the situation, they are doing everything behind the scenes until they can go public.
Be mindful of there is no guarantee that Calhoun finds UC an attractive place to coach. Right now, Calhoun is a hot item and many schools are perhaps chasing him. However, from the reports that I have read, the media considers UC has a very attractive place to coach. Who knows what is going to happen next.
By the way, I saw a report last night that Casey Alexander DID accept the K-State job. Good luck to him.Cory Huffman

I believe Wes is gone. If UC renegtiates his buyout before April 1 that tells us they do not have a firm commitment on a new hire.If they do have a firm commitment already then it is probably a candidate that none of us want. It reminds me of the old Groucho Marx line..." I refuse to belong to a club that would have me as a member." In other words ...the very fact that a candidate is ready to sign on tells us that we don't want him.
Kind of discouraging.

Now where do we turn. I’ve never been more worried about the future. Our entire roster will probably leave now. Another rebuild, and years before we sniff the NCAA’s again. I hope I’m wrong. If I had to bet, I’d say Calhoun.

I live in Hilton Head part time and need a fourth for golf this weekend. Can someone let Wes know?
Actually, as I've said before, I like Wes and believe he did his best. I like the way he handled the team, particularly the Jizzle situation. I do believe he cared about the program. Unfortunately for him, you have to win in this line of business. I wish him the best.

UC won't make the same mistake with this hire. The stakes are much too high for the program as a whole. I have confidence in the admin to choose carefully.Originally posted by longtimefan View PostNow where do we turn. I’ve never been more worried about the future. There's a good chance the entire roster will leave -- see Indiana last year.Originally posted by London 'Cat View Post

But also they hired Wes Miller into the AAC. The next coach is being hired into the Big 12 -- so they in theory should have better options.
I can't wait for the hire Nick Van Exel cries from alumni (eye rolls). James White already said on Twitter/X yesterday he wants the job (eye rolls).

thy say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over - 5 year plan with a coach who can't get it done? is it insanity to give him more years? maybe. but it was pretty apparent that wes couldn't get it done. he was over his head in the B12. he's should be pretty set, financially. maybe he can take a year off, and then come back to mid to low major, without all of the pressure.Originally posted by longtimefan View PostNow where do we turn. Who knows. Whatever we’re looking at another rebuild. It took Huggins three years to reach the NCAA, it took Mick Cronin five. I’ll be in my seat next year, no matter what.Originally posted by D.A.H. View Post
