Wes said pregame he's available, but likely won't play.... Saying he's got a lot of work to do.

Message.. for something.. sent loud and clear.

Disappointed with the poor effort in the second half.

I tuned in with 15mins to go in the 2nd Half.. looked like the Bearcats were on cruise control.... Not a great effort from the line...

It appears things aren't good with Rayvon and Wes. I hope this doesn't continue. We could lose him before he ever gets started.

My understanding is that there is actually a possibility of that. I don't get it. I don't know if he expected to start or didn't think he would have to work at this level or what. I think it'll get sorted out.

On the other hand, the game was entertaining. I'm still trying to figure out if we've scored 60 in the first half before or when the last time that happened was.

                    Wes Miller on Rayvon Griffith:

"He's not in the rotation right now... He's still going through some things a young player has to go through.

"We're not going to throw him out there and burn a year of his life away."

Miller said a redshirt year is on the table.”

this is disappointing because I was hoping he'd be better than a couple guys in the rotation right now,...not that he wont be eventually

I understand it is a young team and they have to jell. I saw some young guys who have not played much resorting to last year's jacking of of 3s with time on the clock ( Tolentino) and some real sloppy passing (Skillings/Reed). I hope CWM corrects this and does it quickly. On the plus side, the starters played great and Frederick is what the Cats have needed since Jared C.. I am so used to thinking no no no when a 3 is sent up, but it turns into a yesssssssssssss. Newman played well and his shot has improved, but remains to be seen how it is with a hand in his face. His defense was lax on several plays. Vik missed too many bunnies and he should have destroyed Mercy. James needs playing time to refine and I believe he will be fun to watch, but Day Day is the spark plug/calming element. It was fun to watch except for that second half, but while I say young guys, I look for more team play.

                          Also from Dan Hoard

I asked Coach Miller on the pregame show if Rayvon is considering a redshirt season:

“He still has a chance to earn his way into the rotation. He’s going to be a great player — there’s no doubt about that. We’re going to let him fight for that at practice and see where it goes.”

How many of you remember the Delta Bearcat Classic where we had Sam Houston and NW Missouri come in every year plus a 4th?
I remember the Bearcat Classic-I had season tickets back then. I remember one year we lost to Canisius and didn't win our own tournament.

If anyone doubted CJ Fredrick's shooting skills, I think you have some idea now how good a pure shooter he is when he's healthy. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, when he was in high school I don't think I've ever seen a better pure shooter than him. He's a difference maker. Guys like DDJ and Landers were very good offensive players, but not the consistent perimeter guy CJ can be. He's the kind of guy other coaches have to scheme around which makes everyone else on the court better. I'm glad we got him. He's probably a heck of a lot smarter player in year 4 now that he's seasoned. One thing injuries do that is positive is you get to watch a lot and if you are attentive you learn. It's nice that CJ, Simas and DeDe are two year guys so you have some scoring nucleus while young guys get better.

He has been needed. Reminds me of shooters under Huggs. I am glad he is here. With him, there is a chance even with taller teams as they will have to stretch especially if the Cats get a second electric eye.
