I can’t see 5 wins remaining. OkSt., KanSt. and WVU are the most likely wins. They may only win one of those three. Three wins are feasible however. The other games are most likely losses.

Simas has the worst looking jump shot I've ever seen. Looks like HS girl's form. Skilling is a super athlete, he still plays offense with his head down and makes mistakes. I don't know what happened to Lahkin (except the step up in opponent quality), but the offense was smoother when it functioned with him getting touches. Reynolds has a nice little one on one backdown with a good touch, but nobody in the Big 12 is going to let him do them one-on-one if your guards can't hit a 3ptr. Neither Jizzle or Thomas seems ready to run an offense. They are both nice athletes. This team is a step in the right direction by Wes and better than I was expecting going into the Big 12 this year, but it is just overmatched by the top programs at this point.

the simas hate cracks me up, he's has bad nights and moments like all of them, but he's pretty good, won the tech game, and top 3 player on our team, no jizzle isn't better...yet

Yeah, I'm not sure we're overmatched. The turnovers - many were self inflicted, lobs across the middle of the court, just poor basketball. Yes, Iowa State's D is really, really good, but we were within 1 point after 12 turnovers - that's worth noting. What was happening at that point? We were driving to the basket, drawing fouls. What happened later? We returned to jacking up piss poor 3's. Why are the players regressing away from a game plan that was working? This - along with the curious lineups/playing time decisions, is what I'd like to hear someone ask Wes. Is he too much of a "players coach" and not holding them accountable when needed? I don't know, but something seems to be missing. We've lost 8 games now, all within 5 points except for tonight. I suspect if some of this "curious" oversight were corrected, we'd be really excited right now about our tournament seeding. Instead, we're staring at the NIT.

              Path to 9-9…

              Win at UCF on Saturday
Win home games versus Oklahoma State, Kansas State, West Virginia
Win 1 of the following 3 road games: TCU, Houston, Oklahoma

So, are you saying Wes doesn't know talent? Or how ready that talent might be for this level of competition? Or that that Top 100 talent isn't in agreement with his current status? Every time I see him, he's jumping off the bench cheering for his teammates. Maybe RG sitting is more about his development and building the future roster than about this particular year. If you want to question a player riding the pine, my first would be Sage. Is he just not developing? And I really wonder why Ody isn't getting minutes lately. I'm not sure exactly what has happened with Vic, but Wes defended him very strongly in post game comments on the radio broadcast tonight.

Every loss stings. But there are times when the other team is better than you. ISU is tied for the league lead. Tonight wasn't a fluke.

Yes there are many things about this team to question. Basic basketball IQ is my biggest. 2 PGs who don't seem to understand the role of a PG. Bigs and Wings who seem to have hoisting 3s as a fallback to not properly executing pick and roles or pick and pops. Basic things that you shouldn't have to teach by the time a player reaches college. Turn off the sound on the TV and listen to Terry Nelson. You might learn something. Unless of course you are a current or former D1 basketball coach.

Unlike many on here, I'm not down on Wes. Been a fan too long and have experienced way worse than this. Let's let the season play out. I have no doubt next year will be much different.

Wes was pretty upset in the postgame when Terry questioned him about Vik, and was very defensive about his player. Indirectly he defended Day Day when Terry mentioned Jizzle. Wes seems very loyal to his guys, that’s who he is.

Of course Wes knows talent. Nobody said otherwise.
No, I am not a D1 basketball coach, nor have I ever been. Did you? What I am is someone who has followed and supported UC basketball since Oscar was there. I believe I am entitled to my opinion, and apparently Terry Nelson doesn't always agree with Wes either.

He’s loyal to his terrible decisions. He’s loyal to losing.

Guys played their asses off, but tonight they lost to a better team. I never want to go back to how things were when Wes got here. We’re light years ahead of that.

I'm sorry but this statement is ludicrous at best. No explanation needed.

Replace Simas with Oguama (more defense, rebounding, and paint scoring). To me, Oguama in your lineup is a better lineup.

                              • This Cincinnati team, including the coaches, has one BIG PROBLEM. It DOES NOT know how to win. Also, the coaching staff DOES NOT appear to be looking for different paths to winning. We have all seen this SAME approach for three years now. Guess what, we are seeing the SAME results. The losses are stacking up. This is going to be ANOTHER double-digit loss season. Just like the other two. Ten or more losses a season may go on for a while. Get use to it.

Before a team can win, it must first HAVE TO LEARN HOW NOT TO LOSE.
