The Colonels presently have a 1-2 record. They will play at NKU on Thursday, before showing up at 5th/3rd Friday night. (No, I'm not going to head over to Highland Heights to take that one in.)

They had a decent loss at NM (91-84) and meh loss at home to S AL (70-64). The Colonels' win, though, came today at home over ... MS University for Women (93-44). They're at #193 in KenPom after two games that that source recognizes.

The leading scorers are guards Robert Brown (16.7) and Ike Cornish (16.0). Forward Jamal West averages 10.7 with 6.3 RPG. Brown and Cornish are tall guards (6'4" & 6'6" respectively). Otherwise they have a group of players in the 6'5" to 6'8" range. No one taller.

Nicholls State head coach Tevon Saddler became the youngest head coach in Division 1 when he was hired in April 2023 at age 28.

Saddler played for Wes Miller at UNC Greensboro from 2013-2015.

Sounds like as close to a best case scenario as you can get for an in-season injury that requires surgery. Hopefully he's back by the Villanova game at the latest.

We should expect for Day Day to return on Friday. It'll be interesting to see how much time he shares on the court with Jizzle.
