Nick Van Exel: Good to see @GoBearcatsMBB in action ystrdy. Team looks good and has a good chance to do some special things. Coach Miller and his staff are doing a great job.

Cincinnati is playing some pretty good basketball right now. UC has great offensive and defensive numbers with low turnovers. However, as Lee Corso (old time football coach (Indiana)) would say, "not so fast". Let's evaluate Cincinnati basketball after Villanova, Dayton, and especially Xavier. Both Dayton and Xavier are undefeated at this point in the season. Both teams are good scoring teams and are pretty good defensive teams. Also, I have seen UC teams take on a different persona after the Christmas Break. Sometimes the team that goes home for Christmas is a different team that comes back after Christmas. Likewise, I have seen UC teams peak very early in the season and then go flat (think of the only team that Lance Stevenson played on. They played great in Maui and then went flat the rest of the season).

So, let's evaluate UC basketball after the Dayton game (10th game on schedule) and after the Arizona State game (6th conference game). That will give us two key points in the season from which we can base our judgements. I have been watching UC basketball for a very long time. I cannot remember a more explosive and dangerous UC team. This team appears to be able to score and defend at very high levels. I hope that UC can continue to get better for the entire season. As it stands right now, I need to see how UC plays against more competitive teams before I put them in the Sweet 16.

Leeray, I remember watching UC at the Coliseum wearing red pants. We have had some really good teams between then and now. Likewise, we have had some pretty bad teams. I am excited that this team is heading towards the really good teams. I hope that the players can remain healthy because I remember when the No. 1 ranked UC lost the No. 1 player in the Country in their conference tournament.

Good point on the team staying healthy. Staying healthy is very important for the team's success.
